Colourful founding day at Curro

Curro Heuwelkruin celebrated its founding day with a lot of spirit, laughter and fun last Friday.

POLOKWANE – Curro Heuwelkruin celebrated its founding day with a lot of spirit, laughter and fun last Friday.

The celebration began on the school’s rugby field with a banner parade, followed by the official founding day opening.

Even though the weather conditions were unpleasant, learners were determined to enjoy the day.

All grades participated in a Rainbow Run during which learners clad in white clothing had to run to different points where powdered paint of different colours were flung at them.

The learners’ parents also had a chance to enjoy themselves, and participated in a bowling event.

The day’s events culminated in a festival with line dancing as one of the highlights of the night.

The following day the school hosted a series of friendly rugby and netball matches. Heuwelkruin’s primary school and high school teams played netball against the teams of Eagles Nest Christian School and Noorderland High School. Later on in the day, Heuwelkruin’s primary school and high school teams played rugby against Curro Northern Academy and Ben Vorster High School respectively.

The day ended with Heuwelkruin’s first rugby team battling it out against Ben Vorster’s first rugby team, losing a tough game with a score of 34-0.
