Westenburg bleeds for a cause
Westenburg Secondary School had its first blood drive at the school on Friday.
POLOKWANE – Westenburg Secondary School had its first blood drive at the school on Friday.
The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) were at the school from 09:00 to 13:00.
Dottie Pinn, SANBS public relations officer, said more than 80 learners attended the blood drive and 45 units were donated.
“Others were deferred due to medical reason. It was the school’s first blood drive and reaching a target of 45 units is something the learners can be proud of. Well done. Your donation will save someone’s life.
“We would like to thank Jimmy Steele, the acting principal, and his team for all their help and support. We look forward to visiting the school again in future,” Pinn said.
