POLOKWANE – The debating team of Eagle’s Nest Christian School is the winner of the ninth University of Limpopo Vice Chancellor’s Cup that took place on Saturday.
This event saw 24 teams from 14 schools in Limpopo battling it out for top honours. Topics of the day included feminism, freedom, and safety and security issues.
The Eagle’s Nest senior team beat the Pepps team in the final round. A confident Eagle’s Nest junior team took on Hoërskool Louis Trichardt and beat them.
This debating contest has been held annually since 2006 and is presented by the University of Limpopo’s debating society in conjunction with the university’s department of languages. The aim, according to the school, is to develop and advance research, presentation and critical thinking skills of high school learners in Limpopo.
