POLOKWANE – THE Rethabile Crèche and Pre-school in Greenside Ext 44 had a fun-filled day with activities including a jumping castle, climbing wall and trampoline at the Mall of the North on Friday.
The principal, Maria Bopape, said the day was very important for the children’s development as such activities gave them endless ways in which to learn. “These activities help the learners to develop and improve their coordination, explore their environment and develop their imagination and creative thinking. “They can also assist the learners in the ability to problem solve and experiment with solutions,” Bopape said.
She said taking the learners to different places was a way of improving the school standard and also to improve the learners’ knowledge. “One thing we like about the children is that they always show love and care for each other and we are glad that they are able to learn from different environmental conditions,” Bopape said.
One of the teachers, Paulina Mailula, said taking the children to participate in external outdoors activities served to open the children’s minds. “Taking the children to different places of learning every term is want we strife for every year. We understand that the children should learn from different places while they are still young.
“We urge the parents to support us all the way as we are building a great future for their children,” Mailula said.
