LIMPOPO – The festive season is a season of giving, sharing and spreading love and it was no different for The Grace Band when they treated three less fortunate families from around the province with food parcels for Christmas.

The band hails from Khujwana village in Tzaneen and consists of 23 young vibrant members who transform and develop a unique gospel sound that incorporates traditional Xitsonga music, worship songs, Afro jazz and other interesting melodic elements.

The first family to be treated by them was the family of an unemployed father with three children, the second family to be blessed with Christmas food was an unemployed widow with seven children and the last family was a family headed by two children who lost their parents.

Shadrack Mhlari, the founder of the band, said they believe in giving back and putting smiles on other people’s faces. “This Christmas we thought of sharing the little we have with the underprivileged as Christmas is a time for giving.

“We thought of giving something that is helpful to express our love and appreciation to the community thus which we gave out food parcels,” Mhlari said. He further said giving and sharing should not only happen on Christmas Day but every day.

“Over and above the afore-mentioned Christmas gifts, The Grace Band will continue to provide food packages to other disadvantaged families around Limpopo,” he concluded.
