18 injured in collision between 2 taxis and sedan

Eighteen passengers were hospitalised after two taxis and a sedan collided along the N1 in Musina early this morning.

LIMPOPO – Musina Police Spokesperson, Const Dakalo Ramagwede said the accident happened near the China City just outside Musina, a few kilometres from the Beitbridge Border Post.

“The two taxis, A Toyota Quantum and Toyota Siyaya collided partially head-on. The driver of the sedan who was apparently unaware of the accident drove in to the crashed vehicles a few minutes later.

Two taxi drivers and some passengers were in critical condition and were rushed to the Musina Hospital. The driver of the sedan was not injured.

The cause of the accident is not yet known, but police’s investigations are still underway. We have opened an inquest,” said Ramagwede.

The horror happened close to area where a taxi and a truck collided killing seven people and injuring nine last year in July.
