The world is Thato’s oyster

She may be young, but this 23-year-old's inner-strength and maturity is far beyond her years.

MOKOPANE – As Thato Seopa walks into the Bosveld office in her high heels with head held high, it is clear she is a woman not to be messed with.

This born-and-bred Mokopane resident is also known as the Bicep Barbie by her Facebook followers and has numerous achievements to her name.

She is an English teacher at the Waterberg High School by day, a drill seargant to the soccer players of the Makinta Mokone Football Club in Ga-Molekane Village in the afternoon and a fitness fundy in the evening as she trains at Health Zone six times a week.

She says she would gladly workout every day of the week, but the gym is not open on Sundays.

She recently took part in the Miss SA Regional Competition held at Meropa Casino and says it was a wonderful experience, but she feels she is more of a fitness queen than a beauty queen.

She represented Limpopo at the World Beauty Fitness and Fashion Incorporation at Carnival City in June and clinched a fourth place in the commercial model category and a fifth place in the fitness model category.

She is currently a Brand Ambassador in Limpopo for the DStv irock music festival set to take place from 22-25 September in Polokwane, where artists from all over the country will show off their talent. She is also a proud Brand Ambassador for Supplements SA with a Lita’s Nails sponsorship. Thato is on top of the world and she says this is only the beginning.

“I have even bigger plans for the future. I would love to be the fitness trainer at a renowned football club such as Mamelodi Sundowns, I have also recently enrolled at Unisa to study law.”

She tells Bosveld after following the Oscar Pretorius case, she fell in love with law.

When asked what motivated her to start exercising, she said she was bullied for being skinny and decided to tone her body to boost her self-confidence. “Today those bullies are my biggest fans. My advice to others who have been bullied is to use the experience to grow. Trust and believe you will rise above the situation.”

“I strongly believe in these words: ‘Sadda Haq,’ meaning my life, my choice,” she concluded.
