Camisa family face another storm after short-lived relief

After he was injured in a motorcycle accident in December, Antonio Camisa has been discharged from hospital and is recuperating at home.

POLOKWANE – The father of two says he does not recall what happened during the accident, when his motorcycle got stuck under a truck, but he is not letting anything get him down.

“He is getting stronger by the day and wants to get back to work but the doctors say is hasn’t fully recovered and cannot return to work yet,” his wife, Renette explains.

Although the family is happy Antonio survived the accident and is recovering, they’re struggling financially as they must cover medical bills and take care of school fees and supplies.

As Antonio awaits the green light from doctors to return to work, his wife is burning the candle at both ends to make up for the loss in income. “I am the only person earning an income at present. I am working two jobs to keep things going,” Renette continues.

The Camisas are grateful to the community for their support following Antonio’s accident but say they are struggling financially.

“It is a new year and we still need to buy school clothes and supplies. Antonio’s treatment and medication exhausted our medical aid and we need to cover the remaining fees. Hopefully, Antonio will be able to start working in February and we’ll have his income to help pay off all our debt,” Renette says.

The Camisas would greatly appreciate any form of assistance and those willing to lend a hand are welcome to contact Review at (015) 293 9453.
