R71 crash claims 4 lives

LIMPOPO – Four people were killed and five others injured after two vehicles collided head-on on the R71 yesterday afternoon (Monday).
According to a statement issued by ER24, paramedics were notified of the crash on the Tzaneen road near the Veekraal off ramp at around 17:22.
“ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene together with police and provincial emergency services. The paramedics managed to stablise a man on the scene. He has sustained a serious head injury and was transported to a nearby hospital to receive further medical treatment,” said ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing Harduth.
“Another patient transported by ER24 was a woman believed to be in her 30’s who sustained pelvic fractures,” she added.
Three other patients were transported to nearby hospitals by other emergency services.
