Gogo found dead in hospital bath, manager suspended
An investigating team comprising medical practitioners will by Monday have finalised their investigation into an incident at Elim Hospital during which an 83-year-old patient died after sustaining third degree burns.

LIMPOPO – Their task is to establish whether or not Modjadji Manganye died as a result of negligence, and the findings of the investigation will be given to the Health MEC, Dr Phophi Ramathuba, next week.
According to information, Manganye went to the bathroom to have a bath, assisted by a nurse.
Manganye was apparently told to wait while the nurse had gone to fetch her clothes, but by the time the nurse returned the gogo’s body was found in burning hot water.
Ramathuba subsequently suspended the hospital’s operations manager and the nurse, pending the investigation.
“I appointed a high-level team to investigate the circumstances surrounding the case. They remain innocent until proven guilty,” she said.
A family spokesperson, Jabu Manganye said the family would consider a way forward based on the outcome of the report, but in the meantime finalise the funeral arrangements.
