LIMPOPO – Police in Motetema have arrested three suspects aged between 47 and 77 respectively for a mob-killing which occurred in the Tafelkop area at Dikgalaopeng village, outside Groblesdal.
It is alleged that four suspects were traced and arrested by a group of community members accusing them of being involved in stock theft incidents.
Following a citizen’s arrest. The suspects were severely assaulted until one of the victims, Tetelo Malau, aged 26, died.
The other three were seriously injured and taken to hospital for medical treatment.
Police Spokesperson Lt. Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe says communities are still warned to stop taking the law in their own hands because they will ultimately become criminals themselves.
“The three suspects will appear before Nebo Magistrate Court soon but more arrests are expected. Police investigations are continuing,” he said.
