Consumers in the city may experience low pressure or water shortages tomorrow (Wednesday) as a result of a shutdown of the Ebenezer Plant for the greater part of the day.
Communications and Marketing Manager of the municipality, Matshidiso Mothapo on Tuesday confirmed that Lepelle Northern Water had informed the municipality of planned maintenance to a leaking pipeline and also reported that the Olifantspoort Plant was not operating on Tuesday due to a leak on the Specon pipeline. “Repairs took six hours but pumping has since resumed,” Mothapo confirmed.
Mothapo confirmed that the level of the Potgieter Avenue reservoir was at 92%. The levels of the 50 and 30 mega litre reservoirs next to Ster Park were both at 20%, while the old 30 mega litre reservoir’s level was also at 20%. The Seshego reservoir was low at 25%. The flow from Ebenezer Dam and the Olifantspoort plant was 84 and 254 litres per second respectively.
Yesterday (Tuesday) the schedule on the website of Lepelle Northern Water indicated the levels of the Loskop and Blyderivierpoort dams to be at 86% and 63,2%. The Tzaneen and Magoebaskloof dams were at 41,3% and 100,2% respectively, while the Flag Boshielo, Ebenezer and Doorndraai dams were at 34,3%, 89,7% and 47,7% respectively.
