BREAKING NEWS – Meeting halted amid reported demands for release of suspects

This morning’s (Thursday) meeting in Westenburg to have been addressed by Polokwane Executive Mayor Thembi Nkadimeng – following this week’s unrest – was halted amid the reported demand for the release of suspects linked to the protest action.
According to Polokwane Municipal Spokesperson Matshidiso Mothapo the meeting couldn’t continue as the community demanded the release of the suspects and they had agreed on another meeting. “Everything was peaceful.”
Ten suspects are expected to appear in court today after having been arrested during the course of Tuesday and the early hours of Wednesday (yesterday), it was learnt.
