The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in partnership with the Department of Economic Development, Environment and Tourism (Ledet) hosted a workshop at the city library on Friday with the aim of sharing export marketing information with aspiring exporters in the province.
Deputy Director Trade and Investment Promotion at Ledet, Greg Seanego said the the workshop partners included Polokwane Municipality, Limpopo Economic Development Agency and Small Enterprise Development Agency (Seda) among others. He highlighted the purpose as a platform for emerging entrepreneurs to gather information on export marketing.
He further said such workshops were vital for upcoming businesspersons as they teach them on channels available to access the export market and again grow their respective businesses.
Seanego indicated that over 30 participants had attended the gathering and that he was satisfied with the turnout as he reckoned that it was proof that Limpopo residents were hungry for information and knowledge.

DTI Assistant Director for Export Information, Rendani Manenzha stated that the department was mandated to develop emerging exporters for them to be able to compete in the global market. He reiterated that Limpopo had much potential especially in the fields of mining, agriculture and clothes manufacture.
Manenzha added that the workshop wanted to make emerging entrepreneurs aware of export markets for them to grab opportunities that were available.
Polokwane Municipality representative Malesela Ledwaba, who works in the enterprise development division, indicated that attendees raised concern about being unable to access municipal information hence his address was focused on the issue. He further said emerging businesspersons and residents are urged to register on the municipal data base for the municipality to have constant interaction with them and share vital information.
