LTA participates in show to maximise on domestic tourism

A delegation of tourism product owners from Limpopo led by Chief Executive Officer of Limpopo Tourism Agency (LTA) Nomasonto Ndlovu, attended the annual Gauteng Getaway Show in Gauteng last week.
Ndlovu was quoted to have said the purpose of attending the show was to inspire and drive demand for domestic tourism into the province, spearhead and encourage geographic spread of less visited attractions in the regions and reduce seasonality and promote all year round leisure travel. She further stated that, from their side, it was critical to continue attending the show as it will contribute to the numbers they will need to maintain their top position in the country on domestic tourism. “Following twelve successive years of attendance at the show, the agency feels it is still imperative to participate at the Getaway Show to maintain and service the target market that loves visiting Limpopo as well as the target of its domestic market. Gauteng is a powerful market for Limpopo on domestic tourism but we are also working on mechanisms to transform the visiting friends and relatives (VFRs) into holiday makers in order to increase the length of stay and spend in the province”.
The Getaway Show is Africa’s premier travel and outdoor show showcasing hundreds of exhibitors including travel destinations, accommodation, outdoor gear, 4×4 products and accessories, motor homes, caravans and trailers, camping equipment and adventure operators.
The expo draws the attention of travel and tourism enthusiasts and experts by bringing forward the latest changes which are taking place in the outdoor and travel and tourism industry.
