Efforts bring quality sounds for Ds Figo
Seshego native, Makgato 'Ds Figo' Rapholo says it is not easy to make it but it is easy to put effort into your work
POLOKWANE – Seshego native, Makgato ‘Ds Figo’ Rapholo says dancing pantsula at a young age made him inquisitive as to how the beats were made and his DJing career kicked off from there.
“Luckily, I met DJ Cpoeroe who taught me how to make beats using the FL Studio and I haven’t looked back since,” he told BONUS.
In 2016, he released a single titled ‘Bad Memories’ which was about how he felt throughout his career.
Together with DJ Josti and Lele X, the trio created a group called Ten Deepers and Ds Figo’s first EP, with Lady L was titled ‘All Day’ and was released under Afro Native Records.
“My EP featuring DJ Tears PLK, Scozica, Ten Deepers, Insane Melodies, Nastic Groove and static sole made me believe in my abilities and it focused on how everything in life is not easy.”
He added that he has worked hard to produce good music by spending at least six hours a day working on his music.
“I am also a cricket umpire, which allows me to make money to build my brand as a producer. It is not easy to make it but it is easy to put effort into my work and produce quality music and have a positive influence on others,” he said.
Ds Figo is currently working on another EP, titled ‘Super Woman’ which he said will be released soon, “2020 is the biggest year because I am releasing my second EP that will be mastered by Lele X”.
His first EP is available online and he can be reached on Instagram-@michaelfigo5, Twitter-@michaelfigo5 or 065 851 2144.
