Another pipe leak at Olifanspoort to affect water supply in Polokwane

This is the second reported leak on the line in seven days resulting in further strain on the city's supply. 

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Municipality said water supply to the city will be restored once repairs have been completed at the Olifantspoort Plant.

Municipal spokesperson Thipa Selala said water supply to most areas has been affected by a stoppage at the plant due to another leak on the Specon pipeline.

This is the second reported leak on the line in seven days resulting in further strain on the city’s supply.

Selala said Lepelle Northern Water has estimated six hours from 11:47 until operation of the plant is restored.

“It may take some time before flow reaches all affected areas of supply,” his statement read.
