Tshepiso founders give with open hearts

POLOKWANE – The founders of the Tshepiso Foundation made a promise to do their best to help people in need in their community.
That promise also inspired the name of their foundation, which translates to ‘promise’.
Reneilwe Elma Madisha and Tshepiso Sweetness Dikgare give with open hearts and make things happen.
Based in Ext 76, they are on a mission to help as many people as they can. “We want to help people who are in need, especially those that cannot help themselves, and we want to assist learners too,” Madisha remarked.
They were inspired by someone on social media who was doing charity work to start their own venture.
“We realised that you do not have to be rich to make a difference in somebody’s life, and giving has become an addiction to us. It is in our blood and everywhere we go, we see an opportunity to give,” said Dikgare.
The two women are on a mission to help as many people as they can, and they often rope in local entrepreneurs to assist where they can.
They have completed a few projects since they founded the foundation at the beginning of the year and they give thanks to the Ward 8 councillor, Makhasane Mabote who assisted them.
In the next two years, they would like to have big sponsors so they can run a sanitary drive every month.
They would also like to expand their reach beyond the province. “We would like to have a place to operate from where we can run a soup kitchen and offer accommodation to those who need it,” added Madisha.
Dikgare shared that it is sometimes difficult to detach themselves from the situations that they see when they help people. “It takes a lot of prayer because there are people who live in dire conditions and you don’t have the means to assist. We cannot do everything for everyone at once, and thus it becomes important to sometimes get space to reflect and accept the things that are beyond our control,” she said.
