A Polokwane judge issued a warrant for Solly Galane, who is accused of murdering Phuti Mamabolo, after he failed to appear in court.

POLOKWANE – A warrant of arrest has been issued for murder accused Solly Galane after he failed to appear in the Polokwane High Court on Monday morning.

Galane is on trial for the murder of his ex-girlfriend, Phuti Mamabolo, who he allegedly ran over with a car in Seshego Zone 6 in June 2022.

He faces charges of murder and reckless driving, and has pleaded not guilty, although he previously admitted to an earlier assault charge opened by Mamabolo before her death.

According to his legal representative, Galane sent a message claiming he had a toothache and was unable to attend proceedings.

The presiding judge issued a warrant for Galane’s arrest and ruled that he has forfeited his bail.
