Cappies share the importance of donating blood

During a recent blood drive at Capricorn High School, the Polokwane Review asked learners why they donate blood.

POLOKWANE – Donating blood might be a scary prospect for many people but not for Capricorn High School learners.

During a recent blood drive at the school under the phrase ‘donate blood to save lives’, the Polokwane Review asked learners about their understanding of the importance of donating blood.

Kgaogelo Malebati: I learned about the importance of donating blood from my dad who always donates. It became something I don’t mind doing because it’s a good thing and saves lives.
Tshepo Lamola: We were taught about blood donation at school and I know that my donation can save lives which is why I want to donate blood to save those that are in need of it.
Mamoloko Mokoka: My classmates told me about donating blood and I have seen posts on social media about it and I decided to join the group that will donate here at school.
Puledi Machaba: I learned about blood donations through a friend. I am nervous about the process but happy to donate and save lives.
Mosudi Lekota: My mom told me how important it is to donate blood and I have seen advertisements on TV. This is my third time donating blood this year.
Bohlale Nyembe: I learned about the blood drive at school and I have been waiting to reach the required age to start donating. I have seen a few people donate so know the importance of it and how it can save lives.
