Police empower Noorderland learners against GBV, bullying
This initiative is part of their ongoing efforts to address these issues in schools and promote a safe learning environment.
POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Police Station Victim Empowerment Centre (VEC) visited Noorderland High School on March 11 to raise awareness about gender-based violence (GBV) and bullying.
This initiative is part of their ongoing efforts to address these issues in schools and promote a safe learning environment.
Regina Mailula, project manager at the VEC, spoke of the importance of creating a supportive space where learners feel comfortable reporting incidents.
“We want to educate learners on the consequences of bullying and GBV while providing them with information on how to report cases and access support services.”
The visit also aimed to address the emotional impact of bullying and GBV.
“We understand the trauma and stress these experiences can cause, and our goal is to offer the necessary support and resources for learners to heal and recover,” Mailula added.
Learners, parents, and teachers seeking support can contact the Polokwane Police Station Victim Empowerment Centre at 015 004 1724 or visit their office at 38 Schoeman Street.
