Polokwane City Football Club survives relegation

The Management of Polokwane City Football is breathing a sigh of relief after the club managed to survive relegation of the Premier Soccer League (PSL).
City was hovering in the relegation zone for the past two months but managed to annex crucial points in the last four remaining matches of the league.
In their last four encounters they beat Chippa United, drew against Orlando Pirates, Mpumalanga Black Aces and University of Pretoria. “Those were tough matches but we are happy that we managed to get a point or two out them. We had to fight and grind for points because we were not at a good position at all and we are happy to have avoided relegation,” Club Spokesperson, Tumelo Makgoara said.
City currently occupies the 13th position on the league with 30 points and they can finish the league with 33 points if they win against Bloemfontein Celtic Football on Saturday in their last match of the 2015/16 PSL season. “It is our last match of the season and we have to finish well. We want to win the match for our fans who stuck with us even when the results were not coming. We have not beaten Celtic this season and I think we need break that duck,” Makgoara said.
He also mentioned they will support their striker Thobani Mcwango who is currently one of the top goal scorers in the league with 12 goals in the league. “He has expressed that he will love to win the golden boot and he has our full support as a team and wish him best of luck in that quest,” Makgoara said.
Mcwango will have to score three goals to surpass Collins Mbesuma of Mpumalanga Aces who currently leads the fray with 14 goals.
