The u.12 soccer players of Benny’s Sports Academy in Tshiozwi village, near Louis Trichardt are expecting their upcoming trip to Paris to be the opportunity of a lifetime.
As national champions of the 2016 u.12 Danone Nations Cup they will represent the country on international level at the world finals to be played at the Stade de France in October.
Dakalo Mukwevho, midfielder and captain of the team said their preparation for the tournament was at an advanced stage and the team was excited to represent the province and country in France. “It is a dream come true for us and we are excited at the prospect of travelling to France and determined to make our academy and the country proud. The team is hard at work preparing for the competition. We train two times a day and we are also working on our diet and nutrition so that we can be on par with players from other nations,” he said.
Dakalo further said he would like to play professionally one day but understands it is hard work a career that doesn’t last a lifetime so he also wants to study business management as he would like to open his own trucking company.
