The Provincial Ranking Fencing Competition held in the city on Saturday saw local Firebirds Fencing Club giving their opponents a run for their money.
Junior, senior, veterans and novices competed in order to improve on their provincial ranking.
Firebirds took the first three positions in the category for junior women’s epee, junior mixed epee and u.13 mixed epee. The club’s members collected eight gold, six silver and 11 bronze medals during the competition.
