National First Division (NFD) rookies Magesi Football Club are expected to go all out for maximum points when they play Thanda Zulu Royals in their first match of the division at the old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.
The Moletjie based team will rely on the experienced players such as Elias Ngwepe, Thoka Mofokeng and Khuliso Motau for a win against the Durban based outfit.
Team Coach, Jacky Ledwaba who played a key role in the team’s promotion to the NFD from the ABC Motsepe League last season, said they have prepared well for Thanda.
“We have prepared well for the NFD season and for Thanda. We played tough teams from ABC Motsepe League, NFD and Kaizer Chiefs during off season. We have never played them before, they are unknown to us but we have to win the match and make a good impression,” he stressed.
He appealed to the team’s supporters and lovers of the game not to forsake them but rather to attend in large numbers. “Supporters are the driving force of the team and we need them on Saturday and in all our matches. We can’t afford to let them down, we have to play well and give them the desired results,” Ledwaba said.
He said they are fortunate to have acquired the services of Thoka Mofokeng (formerly with Ga Rankuwa United), Noa Maimela (Polo Football Club), Ripson Nxula (Polokwane City Football Club), Silias Masia (Bohoni United), Khuliso Motau (JDR United), Bonginkosi Hlophe (Ballow Winners Park), Mosesenyane Maswangwanyi (Winners Park), Doni Makgatho (M Tigers Football Club) and Kenneth Leshia (Polokwane United).
“These are the players we have signed during the window period and we are confident that they will do well in the team and help the team to achieve its goals,” Ledwaba said.
