Former Black Leopards Football Club and Chippa United midfielder Khunadi Nkoana is happy to be back at Baroka Football Club.
The Moletjie born soccer star was re-signed by the club last Wednesday following a short spell with Leopards.
“I am happy to be back at Baroka. This is where is started my career. I am looking forward to reunite with old teammates and help the team to win championships,” Nkoana said.
Nkoana was part of the team beat Soweto football giants, Kaizer Chiefs and Moroka Swallows in the Nedbank Cup tournament in 2011. “Those are good memories, we made history in football circles. I can’t wait to play my first Premier Soccer League match, rub shoulders with the likes of Teko Modise who has been my favourite player from an early age. I idolised from when he was playing Ria Stars and City Pillars, it will be a dream come true to share the same football field with him,” Nkoana said.
Club’s Chief Executive Officer Morgan Mamilla revealed that Ugandan international Aucho Khalid has finally completed his move to the team last Wednesday.
The 23 year old left Kenyan Premier League outfit, Gor Mahia for the Ga-Mphahlele based outfit.
“He has signed for three years. He is a good player and from a country that produces good players and his country has qualified for African Cup of Nations after a long time. We are excited to have a player like him in the team,” Mamilla said.
He also stated that they are happy to have secured a sponsorship with a local lodge which will provide free accommodation for players and technical staff during their home matches. “They are our new accommodation partner and we are happy with the partnership. We want to thank the owner David Mogale because it is not easy to run a football team without sponsors,” concluded Mamilla.
The team is expected to have a first experience of the lodge on 18 September ahead of their match against Bidvest Wits scheduled for 20 September at Peter Mokaba Stadium.
