2012 Comrades Marathon winner, Ludwick Mamabolo, did not finish the marathon this year due to an injury. He said lady luck was not on his side, but looked forward to compete in next year’s edition.
“I was injured at the 57 km mark, but I cannot use the injury as an excuse for not doing well in the race. This was not my race and lady luck was not on my side this time around. I will start preparing for next year’s race and hopefully do better than this year,” said Mamabolo.
Colinda Potgieter of Pietersburg Road Runners, said the race was tough this year. She said the race was about 2 km longer than usual and congratulated Mudau for finishing second in the masters category.
