LIMPOPO – ONE goal in the first 15 minutes of the first half from Johannes “Gamildien” Motedi was enough for Milano FC to secure a place in the quarter-finals of the Rovers Tournament at Rovers sports ground at Diphale village in Driekop recently.
Milano beat Vultures FC 1-0.
Milano were still licking their wounds after they suffered 2-0 at the hands of Wake Up 2015 FC, who beat them in the quarter- finals of Marula Mine tournament recently.
Milano dominated the match from the first minutes of the first half with more chances created, but failed to be used.
Milano FC, assistance coach, Japhta Mohlala, said the match went according to his plan, though many of chances were not used accordingly.
“We could have scored more goals as we dominated the match. But I cannot complain much because a win is a win. It is always a risk that when you score more goals you tend to neglect your defence, but we will work on that as a team,” Mohlala said.
Vultures FC coach, Cordney Komane, said: “the players were not lucky and we have been denied a clear beautiful goal, and I don’t regard that as a loss. I couldn’t believe my eyes when Katlego Phori was sent off with a red card for a silly mistake in the second half.
“We relied on him. We will go back to the drawing board to sort out these matters and come back with full force,” said Komane.
