Who’ll reign supreme in the ring?

"I am ready to beat him, but I don't undermine him because he is also ready for me"

LIMPOPO – Boxing analysts are still unsure about the outcome when former world champion, Philip “Time Bomb” Ndou comes to blows with the Malawian top welterweight champion, Chimwemwe Chiotcha in Thohoyandou Town Hall on Saturday.

Chiotcha seems to be a closed book to many South African boxers, which is the main cause of the boxing commentators’ uncertainty if he will be able to diffuse the Time Bomb.

The organiser of the event and trainer manager for Boxing South Africa (BSA), Mpho Khorommbi of Mulenzhe World Sports Promotions, says the winner between Time Bomb and Chiotcha will go on to challenge the World Boxing Federation (WBF) champion.

He says the main WBF bout will be between Norman “Volcano” Tshisikhawe and Humbulani Tshamutshedzi who will contest the WBF international title over 12 rounds.

Tshisikhawe confidently says the volcano will erupt and that he is more than ready for the match. Although there is a feeling of affection as he says Tshamutshedzi is like a younger brother to him.

“I am ready to beat him, but I don’t undermine him because he is also ready for me,” Tshisikhawe says.

For the Lightweight Provincial title, Balanganani Ndou will come to blows against his homeboy Pfariso “Cobra” Neluvhalani over six rounds.

In other fights, Tendani Munyai will clash with Bongani Mlotshwa from Gauteng in a six-round fight.

Pfariso Rose of Limpopo Khorommbi will contest with Steven Bewu from Gauteng over four rounds.

The tournament will start at 18:00 and there will be a competition where a lucky spectator will win six tyres for a Toyota Quantum minibus.

“Entrance fee is R100 for regular tickets, R200 for VIP tickets and R500 for VVIP tickets. Entry costs R50 for children and is free for people with disabilities,” says Khorommbi.
