More about the F.A.M.E Charity Cup

The F.A.M.E Charity Cup was organised with the aim of raising funds for charity organisations and bursaries for students in need of financial support. According to F.A.M.E Chairperson, Matodzi Makananisa, they aim to educate and train people so they can have a better tomorrow.

He said: “F.A.M.E is about improving Limpopo and we need everyone to work together to make the province prosperous. We want to eradicate illiteracy by assisting less privileged students who want to further their studies in arts and culture”.

Limpopo South African Football Association (SAFA) representative, Abel Rakoma, said initiatives such as the F.A.M.E Charity Cup build the province. “We should learn to support local concepts. SAFA Limpopo takes this initiative very seriously because it assists with social cohesion. The three soccer teams should ensure that the trophy does not leave the province,” said Rakoma.

Sport and Recreation General Manager, Veronica Choshane, emphasised that the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture supports initiatives such as F.A.M.E. because they touch on sport, arts and culture. She added that the department hopes to see similar initiatives take shape in the province.
