Benny’s boys excited to travel to France for Danone World Cup

The players are excited at the prospect of travelling to France and are determined to make their school, and the country, proud.

LIMPOPO – Benny’s Sports Academy, situated in rural Tshiozwi near Louis Trichardt, won the national title in the u/12 Danone Nations Cup competition and will represent the country at the world finals tournament in France in October.

The team is hard at work preparing for the competition.

Because the academy does not have a grass field, the boys have had to travel to Louis Trichardt and Polokwane to train on grass sports fields. The academy hopes local government will allow them access to the local high performance centre as well as provide financial support to upgrade their facilities.

Neither of the boys know much about France but both are eager to learn as much as they can about the country before they leave.

They hope to do well in France as this might encourage the Department of Education to sponsor them with an Astro turf field which will go a long way in helping build and develop soccer at the school.
