THOHOYANDOU – Leopards are set to host Milano United at the Thohoyandou Stadium tomorrow afternoon and will look to bag another three points in front of their home crowd.
The team had a shaky start to the season but managed to take the win in last Saturday’s match against Santos.
Leopards assistant coach, Sello Chokoe said they changed their line-up which Santos was not prepared for. “We made changes from the Cosmos match where we played to a 1-1 draw at home and those changes made a difference. On Saturday, we attacked. The hosts were chasing shadows,” he said.
“Irvin Mahangwahaya and Khayelihle Shozi played alongside our Zambian striker, Mwape Musonda, the young Sphelele Mkhulihle and Morgan Shivambu. We had Dunga Munganga and Hlabane Kutumela playing centre-back. It was Shozi’s first match and he did exceptionally well,” said Chokoe.
“Our striker, Musonda opened the tally in the first half and Santos equalised through a penalty taken by their midfielder, Tyren Arendse just a few minutes before halftime. It was a struggle in the box that ended up in the referee giving them a penalty, but we eventually took the lead to win 2-1,” he said.
He further said they are looking to cement their place in the league and hope to win by a large margin on Saturday.
