Zanis off to Cape Town
Zanis are on their way to Cape Town to compete at the national championships.
POLOKWANE – Zanis Gymnastics Academy proudly boasts with their 23 senior gymnasts who qualified for the National Gym Games that will be taking place from Saturday 1 October at the Western Cape School of Sports.
The artistic gymnasts qualified for the National Gym Games with their top performance at the recent Limpopo Gymnastics Competition that was held in Thabazimbi.
Kyle Herz from Zanis who competed during the tournament, did well by scoring an impressive and perfect 10 in the high bar for boys level five.
The results for the different categories during the tournament are:
1. Boys Artistic:
• Sebastiaan Austin, level four, nine to 10 years, overall winner with six gold medals and one bronze.
• Martin Botha, level five ,11 to 12 years, overall winner with five gold medals and two silver.
• Pieter Bronkhorst, level five, 11 to 12 years, overall third with one gold, one silver and two bronze medals.
• Kyle Herz, level five, 13 to 15 years, overall first with seven gold medals.
• Caleb Braack, level six, 11 to 12 years, overall first with five gold medals and one silver.
• Liam Botha, level six, 16 to 17 years, overall first with seven gold medals.
2. Girls Artistic:
• Cailin Menzies, level five, 10 years, overall winner with four gold medals and one silver.
• Leandre du Preez, level five u/13, overall winner with four gold medals and one bronze.
• Sanja Pretorius, level five u/13, overall runner-up with three silver medals and one bronze.
• Lara Prenzler, level five u/13, overall third with one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals.
• Abigail de Jager, level five u/13 with two silver medals.
• Cleo-Anne Manamela, level five u/18, overall runner-up with one gold, two silver, and one bronze medals.
The rhythmic girls also excelled at a recent Rhythmic Limpopo Competition that took place in Centurion.
3. The Rhythmic Girls:
• Melchizedek Maponya, level four u/9, overall first with five gold medals.
• Rotondwa Maudu, level four u/11, overall second with two gold medals and three silver.
• Keletso Montani, level four u/11 with two bronze medals.
• Bontle Mahlangu, level four u/13, overall second with one gold, two silver and two bronze medals.
• Perez Maponya, level five u/13, overall first with three gold medals and two silver.
• Mariole Schurink, level six u/15, overall third with one silver medal and four bronze.
• Monene Anker, level seven u/15, overall first with five gold medals.
The following Zanis Trampoline gymnasts also qualified for the National Gym Games in Pretoria:
Elizmarie Miller, Leandre du Preez, Duncan Tilburn, Deandro du Preez en Martin Weweje.
These gymnasts will all be competing on mini-tramp, and all, except Elizmarie, will be competing on Eurotramp.
