3-2 victory for Dragons

Ravele Black Dragons were too strong for Gogobole Bucs when they beat them 3-2 in the recent The Fresh One league match.

LIMPOPO – Dragons took the game to their opponents from the onset, giving the Bucs defenders no time to breathe.

Although Bucs lost cohesion in the middle of the park at some point, their dribbling wizard, Fhulufhelo Ramabulana, remained a thorn in the side of Dragons’ defenders. Ramabulana came close to scoring in the 14th minute when he tried his luck from the edge of the box but the ball missed the goal box by inches.

Dragons took the lead in the 24th minute. Rendani Malungudzi beat the offside trap and showed the keeper the wrong way. The home side (Dragons) did not give in without a fight.

Lufuno Ndadza of Bucs and Thano Monyela from Dragons both go for the ball. Right: Thomas Mhlongo of Bucs with the ball while Dragons’ Mukondi Mulaudzi runs to cover him.

They continued to fight collectively, with their midfielders dishing out some telling passes to the goal poachers time after time.

Edgar Maelula of Bucs’ equaliser was on target in the 39th minute when he beat the keeper with a volley.

The two teams played to a one-all draw until the referee, Mendula Sadiki, blew the half-time whistle.

The only player who was reprimanded with a yellow card was Lufuno Ndadza of Bucs.

He tackled Ndivhuwo Mabetha from behind and the referee was quick to flash yellow.

Rendani Malungudzi completed his brace when he finished off a square pass from Moloko Khererana in the 60th minute but Bucs again closed the margin in the 64th minute.

Tondani Madabeni beated the offside trap from the left corner and unleashed a rocket from the edge of the box. The ball hit the crossbar and landed across the goal line. Thabo Monyelo dished a pre-cooked pass to Romeo Rakhavha, who moved three steps forward before unleashing a half volley. Bucs’ keeper, Ronewa Mbodi, could only watch helplessly as the ball hit the back of the net, cinching the match for Dragons.
