Lim learner breaks shot put record at transplant games
A NKOWANKOWA learner broke the shot put record at the World Transplant Games, which were held in Durban recently.

Kuhlula Shiluvane (17), a gr. 9 learner at D.Z.J. Mthebule High School won a gold medal with a throw of 6.26m, breaking the previous 6.20m record.
Shiluvane, who has undergone a kidney transplant claimed the World Transplant Games shot put title in her age category through her efforts.
According to the organisers of the tournament, competitors had to be transplant recipients of either organs or bone marrow.
They said the games served as the biggest organ donor awareness event in the world.
The aim of the games was to offer hope to those awaiting transplants and to encourage the public to become donors by showing that organ transplants could make a difference in the lives of both young and old.
Over 1 800 participants from 50 countries competed in various sporting codes during the tournament.
The next World Transplant Games will be held in Mar del Plata, Argentina in 2015.
