New BMW 3 Series – driven by technology

Barely on the road and the all-new BMW 3 Series Sedan is already making name and turning heads in the local market.

The BMW 3 Series has always been the leader. Through the new design language, the sports saloon is connecting the successful history with the future. An appearance that meets the wish for sheer driving pleasure with every detail.
Thanks to targeted aerodynamic measures, every BMW boasts excellent air resistance figures. This has a positive impact on efficiency and driving stability, and reduces the level of noise in the interior. This is thanks to sophisticated solutions such as the active air stream kidney grille, the flat underbody cover, the air blades on the rear or the air curtain in the front apron.
The active air stream kidney grille opens and closes the air vents in the radiator grille according to the cooling requirements of the engine and the air conditioning. The movable vents are located behind the kidney grille slats and at the same time reduce air resistance when closed, thereby improving aerodynamics.
The Intelligent Auto Start Stop function uses data from the navigation system, camera and radar-based systems to analyse the current traffic situation. If it is detected that further travel is imminent the engine is not automatically switched off when the vehicle stops.
The new BMW 3 Series M340i xDrive come with a six cylinder twin turbo engine with 275 kW and 500 Nm of torque resulting in 0 to 100 km/h in only 4,4 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h. It is also available in a 320d diesel engine equipped with a four cylinder engine offering 140 kW of power and 400 Nm of torque.
The engines are coupled with an eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission which offers incredibly sporty gear changes. Whether automatic or manual using gearshift paddles or gear lever – for comfortable coasting or incredibly dynamic driving. In Sport mode and with the gear lever in the left-hand, the gear shifts are configured for the best performance.
The driver of the new BMW 3 Series is assisted by ample features acting as a co-pilot. Driving Assistant Professional offers optimum comfort and maximum safety during lots of critical or monotonous driving situations with steering and lane control assistant, local hazard warning and Lane Keeping Assistant with active side collision protection and other safety functions.
Active cruise control with Stop&Go function maintains a pre-defined distance from the car ahead, including stopping and restarting in stop-and-go traffic.
Speed Limit Assist allows the takeover of speed limits in the cruise control. The approach control warning with braking function reacts to stationary vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists.
