Famsa holds successful golf day in Evander

More than hundred golf players take part in day.

Families South Africa (Famsa), hosted its first charity golf day at Walker Park Golf Club on July 25.

The aim of the day was to raise money as Famsa is a non-government charity organisation whose employees receive salary subsidies from the Departement of Social Development.

However, all other expenses must be covered by fund raising events and sponsors from the community or businesses.

More than a hundred golf players showed up and supported Famsa’s golf day as well as businesses who sponsored holes and prizes.

Banie and Rika Groenewald won the golf day and managed to make 57 points while Tiaan and Luaan Meyer finished second with 51 points and Peppie Petherbridge and Morné Nortje finished third with 50 points.

The management team of Famsa thanked all the businesses who contributed towards the day, golf players who took part and individual donors, Peppie Petherbridge, Lukas Potgieter, Marius Moolman, Nick van Heerden and André Blom.

Famsa aims to make this golf day a yearly initiative and already invited those interested to be part of next year’s golf day to contact them.
