Doggy contest for charity

There were furry friends, sloppy kisses and paws galore at the charity dog contest on November 20 at the King’s School West Rand.

The charity fun day was held to raise funds for the Spaniel Rescue organisation. “We had a really good turnout and it was a great day for everyone who attended,” said Julie du Preez from City Pets. “We had a lot of different breeds and all the dogs got along. There were about 20 spaniels. There was an obstacle course, races, best dressed awards and so much more. The proceeds will go towards Spaniel Rescue to help with vet bills.”

Residents definitely showed off which one of their dogs was a good girl or boy, with charming outfits and impressive tricks. The day was the perfect opportunity for an outing as food and drink stalls were available with all kinds of treats – human and otherwise.
