Crawfordians sing their way to the top

They discussed what the choir would like to achieve this year, knowing that competitions had finally opened up.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, competitions and performances have become increasingly rare for choirs in recent years. It was difficult to practise and stay committed when there was no chance of reward. Despite this, Crawford International Ruimsig’s Choir continued to practise, hoping that their efforts would be rewarded someday.

They discussed what the choir would like to achieve this year, knowing that competitions had finally opened up.

“We knew that a lot of the choir members were in matric, so we had our work and time management skills cut out for us. We came to the decision that we would do whatever it takes to get these learners the recognition that they truly deserved!” exclaimed Lindsay van Boven.
Throughout the year, they had a few performances and competitions, with some of their most notable accomplishments being receiving a platinum certificate for RACA and then winning the National Con Spirito Online Choir division.

Crawford Ruimsig would like to congratulate the following Grade 12 College Choir members on receiving full colours for the Arts: Rachel Jacobs (Choir Captain), Aliki Manais (Vice-captain), Emma Jacobs, Teagan Rooney, Kaylie Florence, Khanya Makha, Chloe Tanner, Bianca Aguiar, and Mikaela Visagie. This is a true testament to the five years of dedication and hard work.
