Florida Toastmasters' doors open to new members
Nervous to speak in public? This club might just help you build confidence, communication and public speaking skills.
Are you looking to better your communication, public speaking and leadership skills? Florida Toastmasters is a place you might want to give a try.
Toastmasters is a global non-profit network of clubs dedicated to helping people build their public speaking and leadership skills.
Through a supportive “learn-by-doing” programme, members practice prepared speeches, take on impromptu speaking roles, and receive constructive peer feedback in a judgement-free environment.
According to the vice president of Public Relations, Emmanuel Lunga, the club is inviting community members interested in developing their communication and leadership skills to become members.
Emmanuel, who joined Toastmasters a year ago, said the experience has had a significant impact on his personal growth.
“We are a self-paced learning environment where members can develop valuable skills such as articulating their thoughts, public speaking, oral expression and critical listening, among many others,” he said.
He encouraged adults aged 18 and older, including retirees, graduates and professionals in the corporate sector, to consider joining the club.
The club meets on the first and third Tuesday of every month at the Discovery Bowling Club from 19:00 to 21:00.
