Roodepoort West Soccer team on top of their game

The first half ended with a tie of two goals each, and players went into the break discussing some new tactics for the second half.

On Friday, 13 March the Roodepoort West Soccer team showed off their talents against the Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) Soccer team during the Johannesburg Masters League.

Both Roodepoort West and JMPD teams struggled to get through each other’s defence to score the first point of the match. Roodepoort team’s midfielders, Vusi Kula and Khathutshelo Munyama kept the JMPD players on edge in the centre of the field while Northsider’s very own Thabisile Mgwali provided a secure defensive.

After breaking through Roodepoort’s defence line, JMPD managed to make their way past the goalkeeper and shot the first goal.

The second half started with Roodepoort showcasing their quality football techniques. Both teams scored a goal in the second half, making the score tied at 3–3 for most of the half. Moments before the referee blew the whistle for the end of the game, Roodepoort West managed to rush through to put one more point on the scoreboard.

Roodepoort West remains unbeaten in the league after playing two matches and claiming maximum points in each.

League matches have been put on hold in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, and more information will be given to clubs with regards to fixtures in due course.
