Double gold win for Eliecia

Talented swimmer defends her title at the SA National Schools Swimming Championship.

Eliecia Chivandire, a learner from Charter College International High School, has once again proven that she is destined for greatness after competing at the South African National Schools Swimming Championships held from April 5 to 7 at the Stadium Swimming Pool in Bloemfontein.

Defending her title in the backstroke, Elicia dominated the pool, securing a gold medal in the 50m backstroke and the 4x50m relay. These impressive results made Elicia qualify for the finals in both the 100m and 200m backstroke.

Her stellar performance not only earned her individual accolades but also contributed significantly to Gauteng province’s overall success at the championships.

The province claimed the 2025 Championship title, making her one of the youngest swimmers in the district to claim such a prestigious title.
