Former Panorama FC standout Thato Sibiya, has reached a major milestone in his football career after making his Confederation of African Football (CAF) competition debut with Mamelodi Sundowns on Friday, January 23.
Thato, who developed his game during his time at Panorama FC, featured for the reigning South African giants in continental action, marking a proud moment for both the player and his former club. His debut on the CAF stage is a testament to years of hard work, consistency, and steady progression through the ranks of South African football. He was later named man of the match.
Panorama FC congratulates their former player, highlighting his journey as an inspiration to young footballers currently coming through the club’s development system. The club emphasised that Sibiya’s achievement proves that with dedication and the right support, local talent can rise to compete at the highest levels of the game.

His former coach at Panorama FC, Roman Schroder, told the Roodepoort Northsider Thato brought some kasi flavour when he joined the team at the age of 12.
“He was already good with the ball when he joined us, what the team added is tactical play and structure,” said Roman.
“Thato had all the support he needed on and off the field. His parents supported his through this amazing journey and it would be great if all parents support their children in this way,” Roman added.
Thato’s CAF debut not only marks a personal achievement, but also reinforces Panorama FC’s role in developing players capable of succeeding on the continental stage.
