Cradle of Hope annual fundraising golf day set to drive community impact
A powerful mix of purpose and play is set to unfold as the community comes together for a day that aims to drive real impact beyond the fairways.
The Cradle of Hope is set to host its highly anticipated annual fundraising golf day, an event designed to unite businesses, golfers, community leaders, and supporters for a meaningful day of sport, networking, and charitable giving.
The fundraising event will take place on July 30 at the Ruimsig Country Club, where participants will enjoy a full day of golf while helping raise vital funds for adults and children supported by the organisation.
The event forms part of The Cradle’s ongoing mission to restore dignity, provide food security, and create sustainable opportunities for disadvantaged communities. Funds raised during the golf day will directly support the organisation’s wide range of outreach and development programmes, which currently assist more than 2 000 vulnerable people daily.

Among the initiatives benefiting from the fundraiser are the daily feeding scheme, food security projects, Harvest of Hope food garden programme, community outreach initiatives, skills development projects, and support services for vulnerable adults and children.
Organisers say the golf day is about far more than competition on the course.
“Every swing, sponsorship, and participation contributes toward changing lives,” said Janine Master, the PR and marketing fundraiser officer for The Cradle.
“This event allows individuals and businesses to become part of something bigger, helping restore hope and dignity within our communities.”
The event is expected to host 36 four-ball teams and promises a vibrant atmosphere filled with networking opportunities, entertainment, competitions, and community spirit.
Registration opens at 10:00, followed by a shotgun start at 11:00, while the evening prize-giving ceremony and dinner will commence at 18:30.
A major highlight of the day will be the exciting R100 000 hole-in-one prize, available on a designated hole and subject to official competition rules and verification.
Businesses and community members are encouraged to support the initiative through sponsorships, hole sponsorships, prize donations, branded activations, or direct financial contributions.
“Community support has already been encouraging, with local businesses, donors, and volunteers continuing to rally behind the cause despite ongoing economic pressures and fundraising challenges.
“While fundraising remains increasingly difficult for many non-profit organisations, the support we’ve received from the community has been inspiring.
“We are excited to host what promises to be one of our most successful golf days yet,” Janine said.
Limited spaces remain available for four-ball entries and hole sponsorships. For more information, contact Janine on 076 262 0452.
