SEDIBENG.- The residents of Small Farm, Evaton, now have improved access to quality healthcare services.

On Friday, the Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) hosted the official handover of the renovated and extended Tlhokomelong Clinic in Small Farm.

The renovation and extension of the clinic were undertaken by the Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources and Seriti Power, as part of their commitment to supporting communities in areas where they operate.

The clinic was officially handed over by the Minister of Mineral and Petroleum Resources, Gwede Mantashe, with the Executive Mayor of Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM), Hassan Mako, receiving the important investment on behalf of the people of Emfuleni.

The ceremony was also attended by Gauteng MEC for Health Faith Mazibuko, Group Chief Executive Officer of Seriti Resources (Pty) Ltd, Mike Teke, and Executive Mayor of Sedibeng District Municipality, Lerato Maloka.

The Gauteng Department of Health is working to strengthen emergency response services in the area.

The ELM said that the upgraded facility represents an important investment in the community, supporting improved healthcare infrastructure and services for residents of Evaton North and surrounding areas.

MEC Mazibuko said that the Gauteng Department of Health is working to strengthen emergency response services in the area, including plans for an ambulance base, while ensuring healthcare facilities are properly maintained and remain responsive to community needs.
