Recently we have become a fake football society where we believe everything on social media as far as the development of football is concerned.

At the moment there is not much happening in the field of play.

There is no way that we can claim we are moving in the right direction. Football people in this region, especially football administrators and coaches take their fights or differences to social media. Why?!

It is about time football administrators and coaches grew up. Arguing is fine, as long as you do it on the right platform. As things stand now, we don’t even know which team will represent this region at the Safa Regional Play-Offs because of legal battles between Vaal Milano FC and Metro Stars FC.

Touchline can reveal that Metro Stars FC has made an appeal after losing the protest they lodged against Vaal Milano FC last month. Metro Stars has hired one of the most feared lawyers in the country – Zola Majavu. To TOUCHLINE it doesn’t matter who will represent this region at the Safa Region Play-Offs because that won’t make any difference in the way our football has been running.

TOUCHLINE’s message to the football administrators and coaches in this region is that social media won’t produce players, it will only stir hatred among football fans.

Yes, social media is another form of communication but it is not producing players or taking our football forward.
