17 people have been left injured this morning after a taxi rear-ended a truck on the Klipriver Drive in Alberton.
ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene and found both the taxi and heavy truck in the right lane of the road.
Most of the occupants from the taxi were found seated in the vehicle and the pavement.
On assessment, paramedics found that all 17 people had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Fortunately, no serious or fatal injuries were reported.
Paramedics treated the patients and thereafter transported them to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Traffic was heavily affected due to the collision.
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
