Major breakthrough as Kliprivier ATM bombers nabbed
Two suspects have been arrested in connection with an ATM bombing in Kliprivier after an intelligence-led operation uncovered dye-stained money in Orlando East and explosives in Diepkloof
The police have made a major breakthrough in an intelligence-driven operation that led to the arrest of two suspected ATM bombers.
Members of the Crime Intelligence Narcotics, Sedibeng Tactical Response Team (TRT), JMPD K9, and private security companies followed up on information on a suspect connected to an ATM bombing that occurred in Kliprivier in February.

In a statement, police said the suspect was traced to Orlando East, where he was found in possession of dye-stained banknotes.
“Further investigations led the team to a second suspect in Diepkloof, Zone 4, where explosives were found.”
Police say both suspects, aged 26 and 38, face charges of possession of explosives and suspected stolen money.

“They will further be linked to the ATM bombing case in Kliprivier. They are expected to appear before the Orlando Magistrate’s Court soon.”
The team has been hailed for its collaborative efforts with other law enforcement agencies.
Meanwhile, the SAPS encourages community members to continue working together with the police by reporting criminal activities.
