ZAMDELA – Two men are behind bars after police intercepted a suspected stolen vehicle in Zamdela on June 2.
The arrests followed an intelligence-driven operation launched after officers received a tip-off.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Josephine Rani said that at around midnight, members of the Fezile Dabi District Highway Patrol and Sasolburg POP Section received information about a grey GWM pick-up truck.
The vehicle had allegedly been stolen in Park Road, Bloemfontein, and was heading towards Sasolburg.
Officers set up an ambush and intercepted the vehicle on the R82 near Kragbron. Two male occupants were arrested at the scene for having a suspected stolen vehicle.
Rani confirmed the vehicle was seized, and both suspects are expected to appear before the Sasolburg Magistrate’s Court.
