Meyerton police investigate mysterious death

The man was reportedly seen vomiting before collapsing and was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.

MEYERTON. – The Meyerton police are investigating the mysterious death of a man who was found behind Riverstone Mall on June 8.

Emergency services were called to the scene after passersby discovered the man lying behind the shopping centre.

Upon arrival, paramedics assessed the man and declared him dead at the scene. According to information relayed to paramedics, a passerby witnessed the African male vomiting and attempted to assist him. The man sadly passed away before further medical help could be provided.

Meyerton SAPS spokesperson Constable Nompumelelo Zazini confirmed that police were alerted to the incident and immediately cordoned off the area on arrival.

Zazini says an inquest case docket has been opened for further investigation.
